Some cards I created using card kits.

Hello,

I created the following cards from the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit (the first one) and the next two from the Studio Calico Roundabout Card Kit. I totally and completely scraplifted the yellow, red, and blue-ish one from the inspiration sheet from Kristina Werner. If you haven't checked out her YouTube channel or blog, you should.

Kristina originally used the red and white straw to write out Hi. Which, is very cute but I didn't really want to deal with the straws so I decided to stamp a sentiment in red and used Lawn Fawn Hearts Dies to mimic the original design. I'm not thrilled with how it turned out but it's good.

These next two cards I half scraplifted and somewhat created myself from looking at the Studio Calico Roundabout Card Kit gallery online (I was having issues uploading to it so that's why they're here instead. Overall, I'm pleased with both kits and I'm going to see if I'll continue to subscribe to both or pick one over the other.

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

I was inspired by Mojo Monday's Sketch 296 however because I strayed from it a bit I decided not to submit it to the challenge because I only sort of followed the sketch. So I decided to submit this to the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge. I was pretty pleased with the outcome and I did use the other half of the cardstock piece I cut earlier for my other card. I had a lot of fun with this card and got to use things that I hadn't used before (always exciting!) and I enjoyed that.

 

Again, I'm not doing so great with trying to rotate the image in blogspot's formatting.

Cardstock: Card base core'dinations (not sure what?), Green card stock (DCWV Brights w/white core, 8x8 pad)

Paper: Colorbok, various collections (which I liked the patterns but goodness it is thin, I would avoid Colorbok)

Twine: Blue Lawn Trimming (Lawn Fawn) (the one that came FREE with LawnFawn.com order, wrapped around my purchase, those folks at Lawn Fawn rock!)

Dies: Circle Stackables Lawn Cuts (Lawn Fawn)

Various Tools: Corner Chomper, Cricut Paper Trimmer, Glossy Accents, ATG, Mono Multi Adhesive Liquid Glue, Scissors, Acyrlic Block, Magnetic Cutting Mat, Martha Stewart Score Board, Stylus, Scissors, Big Shot

Seize The Birthday #18

Today is my first time trying to follow a sketch for a challenge and also making a masculine card. I had a fun time with it and a lot of things I used for the first time on a card, twine, glossy accents, and a bunch of new products.

So I'm not really sure with blogspot how to turn the photo 90 degrees counter clockwise. But here is a photo of my project. I'm pretty happy with it. Definitely showing improvement from previous cards and I love the Lawn Fawn products that I used in this card.

**The Lawn Fawn paper I used here was from a 12x12 paper collection from Lawn Fawn but I didn't buy it! I got it FREE with my purchase of stamps and die cuts and lots of other fun Lawn Fawn products by buying direct from http://www.lawnfawn.com . As a wonderful note they send you some of their free papers with every order and a free thank you photopolymer stamp. The whole Lawn Fawn team is amazing and the package come with cute yarn and blue lawn trimmings wrapped around it and I actually save it all and keep looking for a project to use it in. They have free shipping on orders over $75 and are very quick with sending your order out. I actually love their stamps so much that I made an excel file on all the stamp sets they have available. Their stamp sets lend themselves to being combined in unique ways together due to same cute, whimsical style in every set and nice solid stamping lines. Love, love, LOVE Lawn Fawn.

Lawnscaping Challenge #56, Inspiration, Entry 2

So I wasn't really loving my "hola" card as much as I would like so I surfed Pinterest for inspiration and I found it so I decided to enter the Lawnscaping Challenge again.

Moving on however, here is my inspiration. I loved the idea that there was an envelope bursting with hearts. I don't have any kraft card stock and I didn't have any paper in a similar style so I thought I'd make my own version of this card but definitely have a similar theme.

 I am quite please with how this turned out as using Distress inks and distressing techniques are quite new to me. I was not planning the hearts outside the envelope but I had a mistake so I had to cover it up so that was my answer. I love going off the edges of cards I have found, I think that might be something I will have to reel in. I took multiple pictures to show two different possible views. I like that you can choose how it looks. Wasn't quite thrilled with the stamping I did on the bottom of the envelope but I wasn't about to start over. I guess it gives it more character, lol.

I used the the Lawn Fawn "You've Got Mail", "Riley's ABCs", and then used the "Hearts" lawn cuts.I really love this card and I think I'll put a small letter of love in the envelope when I actually use it and yet another message inside the actual card. It'll be really cute.

I found this image inspiring as it was gorgeous. I loved the idea of stitching over letters so much! I just would not have come up with that on my own. The inspiration image and post can be found here, at the Lawn Fawn blog .

I technically didn't use any stamps however I didn't find that technically a requirement anywhere, however I could be mistaken. I used the Quinn's ABCs die cuts and after trying out the ink I have it didn't show up on the dark paper and I decided to go ahead with the design anyway. I like the simplicity of the sentiment and I have never done hand sewing on a paper project nor have i used the adhesive pearl things. After trying to add many things to it, I realized I preferred it simple. I think this card would be a great way to send a hello to a friend for whatever reason. The papers were made out of scraps I had left over from other projects.

Simon Say Stamp Challenge: April Showers and/or Spring Flowers

This is my entry for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: April Showers and/or Spring Flowers. Clearly I am choosing the Spring Flowers portion of it.

This is the picture I am choosing to put as the entry picture but I decided to take several to give you all a taste of what it looks like and to "date" it as much as I can. =)

This is my entry for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: April Showers and/or Spring Flowers. They encouraged you to use Hero Arts and while I don't have a lot of Hero Arts stamps I do have one that is a huge beautiful flower, CL518. I decided to paper piece it and then use Bic Mark-its over it as it needed a little extra detail and depth. I then used a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's "Hello Friend" and it fit perfectly. I like that the flower is going off the edge of the paper and I love the subtlety yet depth of using patterned paper instead of just plain card stock. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I had to use a heat tool to dry the ink otherwise it takes way too long to dry as my climate is a little too humid -- I even have to do that with chalk ink or else it will smear. I was going to add some washi tape that coordinated but I decided that would be too busy.

"Thanks" Card w/Hearts in the Jar

My first project using Stickles and heat embossing! XD

So here is a project I made a couple of days ago. I was inspired by the Lawn Fawn Design team and the Lawn Fawn blog. They are amazing and this was made using only Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. The jar is from "Summertime Charm". The hearts are from the "Hearts" Lawn Cut. The hearts with the smiley face is from "Critters Ever After". The thanks is made with "Quinn's ABCs" and the lines are from "Schoolhouse Backdrops". I'm not quite happy with my stamping abilities on this card as I pushed down too hard on some of the hearts in the background but overall I think it is cute and the embossing works well to hold the stickles in place and no go everywhere as it used to when I was a kid and used puffy paint.
